As a community of churches, The Vineyard is one of the fastest growing church-planting movements in the world. The Vineyard story is about ordinary people who worship and serve an extraordinary God, and is simply one thread in the rich tapestry of the historic and global Church of Jesus Christ. But it is a thread of God's weaving.

From the beginning the Vineyard as a movement has had the commitment to pursue the "Presence of God" and be a Kingdom focused community of believers.


In 1984 Lenny Perata felt prompted by the Lord to park at the base of the hills in Silver Summit. There, God gave Lenny a vision for a Worship Training Center established in the mountains to disciple worshipers prepared for the return of the Lord; these people would be a witness to all the nations. Luke 1:17, Matt 28:18-19, and 1 John 3:2-3 would be the heralds for the future of Mountain Vineyard.
